Better Late Than Never… My 2024 Reflections

It’s taken me a month to post this, but that feels fitting because one of the biggest lessons 2024 taught me was patience—and the art of going with the flow.

This past year has been full of growthchallenges, and unexpected lessons. Navigating life with my two incredible kiddos (11 and 14) brought new experiences, including some neurodivergent diagnoses that reshaped how we understand and support each other. For anyone on a similar journey, ADHD Australia and Autism Awareness Australia have been invaluable resources. We also faced significant injuries, which required months of physiotherapy and tested our resilience.

Our house sat on the market for an entire year without selling, which—while frustrating—became a masterclass in patience and trusting the universe’s timing, even when it clashed with my own.

Unexpected family circumstances stirred up childhood trauma I thought I’d long buried. It wasn’t easy, but it was necessary. For anyone navigating similar challenges, Blue Knot Foundation offers invaluable support for healing from complex traumaGrowth isn’t always loud; sometimes it’s tucked into the hard days, deep breaths, and quiet wins.

There were golden moments too—precious connections with my love, my kids, and family back home. I traveled to Tasmania (a first for me—what a breathtaking place!) and, surprisingly, discovered that I actually love the beach. Thanks for the house, L!

We faced loss, saying goodbye to a beloved family member. It was heartbreaking but gave my kids a tender understanding of grief and goodbyes. If you’re supporting kids through griefThe Australian Centre for Grief and Bereavement offers helpful resources.

We also closed the doors to our Bowral practice, making space for exciting collaborations with @TradieWives@Elysian Holistic Centre@MothersAtMidnight, and new connections with @SineadQuinn and @MariaVakakis.

Amid global heartbreak—warspersecutioninjustice—I’ve felt deep gratitude for the healthlove, and safety my little family holds. If you’re looking to support global human rightsHuman Rights Watch is a good place to start.

As we step into 2025, I hope we move closer together with empathykindness, and a fierce belief that every human being deserves the same rights.
