Gender identity can be complex and the process of gender affirming and experiences of transphobia can impact mental health and wellbeing.
Some common areas that can present challenges include:
I have a special interest in working with trans and gender diverse clients and wish to provide a safe and accepting environment for you to reach out for support. I understand that gender does not define everything that you are or every experience. While it may be an important area for exploration throughout your therapy, it will not be the only focus and I will not pathologise your individual experiences.
I have specialised training and receive regular supervision from the Senior Counsellor at the Gender Centre. I will always be respectful of your experience relating to gender identity, and will be guided by you to ensure that your experience at Nest is one where respect, compassion and empathy are ever-present.
I also welcome working with family, friends or colleagues of trans and gender diverse people.
