What happens at therapy

We know that reaching out can be difficult when you’re experiencing challenges in your life, so we do everything we can to make it easy in a safe and compassionate environment. While there is no set formula to therapy, there are some common areas that you can expect to navigate when you engage in counselling or psychotherapy:

  1. Exploration – exploring things that challenge you, your emotional connections, how you feel about the things you’re experiencing, and how your beliefs and attitudes came to be
  2. Awareness – giving space for you to truly feel and experience your internal world. This may highlight things that have been previously pushed away or  marginalised
  3. Integrating – working together on strategies to integrate the things you discover about yourself, your attitudes and feelings, into your life.

I seek to build a compassionate, respectful therapeutic relationship with clients so that we can work together to explore your experiences, discover meaning in the struggle and find what you require, bringing about sustainable change, growth or acceptance.
